After the original fixture was lost to the heavy rains of early October, the Society visited West Hill for our final match of the 2019 season. Not only did Match Manager Neil Burns succeed in re-arranging this excellent fixture, he also pulled together an exceptional side of 14 Society members to take on the members of West Hill. The course was in great condition - the greens as good as anything that we have played on all year, remarkably good for late November - and the warmth of the welcome from the club was superb. The golf was competitive, the day was dry if a little chilly, and, whilst the result went against us, it was a close contest throughout.
The CCGS team was Tony Pigott, Jeremy Lloyds, Angus Fraser, John Simpson, Darren Stevens, Stuart Waterton, Chris Goldie, John Hardy, Richard Baker, Guy McDonnell, Tim Scriven, MIke Selvey, John Lever and Ray East. Burnsy acted as non-playing Captain.
All in all it was a thoroughly enjoyable day for all concerned and we are very grateful to West Hill for agreeing to rearrange the fixture.
