Two great matches in one day

On Wednesday 9th October, the Society visited two of the great English courses - Royal Ashdown Forest and The Notts (Hollinwell). At Royal Ashdown, Chairman Tony Pigott gathered a team of 12 for a day of foursomes. At lunch, we were narrowly behind 3 and a half to 2 and a half but the afternoon saw a change in our fortunes. The match came down to the result of a singles match in which Darren Stevens was the winner to give us an overall win on the day by a single point.

Trevor Tunnicliffe's team of 16 did not do as well playing 8 4BBB matches. The home side, who included Society member and England selector James Taylor in their ranks prevailed conclusively.

Both courses were in fantastic condition, the rain was largely avoided and the hospitality from both sets of members was, as always, fantastic. In every sense it was a memorable day for the Society!
